biography
I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania but have lived in Florida for as long as I can remember.
Growing up, I
was always into art - mostly drawing and painting. At one point I wanted
to get into fashion design. I stumbled into web design by a friend’s
suggestion - it sounded like the most stable artistic job out there.
I picked up a book on HTML and have been hooked ever since.
Since then, I have developed a passion for coding,
while still never
letting go of my visual, artistic side. These two sides of me have led
me to be a mix of designer and programmer.
I graduated from UCF in December 2006 with my Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
I work at Google in Mountain View, CA, where I work on their Online Help website: I rewrite existing code for scalability, semantics, accessibility, and readability; I implement features for their website in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and sometimes Python and Java; and I train my colleagues in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Every day that I step into my office I'm reminded that I'm working for the most amazing and innovative company ever. The work I do is seen by millions, which is both a great inspiration and a great reward.
I think it would be really exciting to
work on a website building application, like Dreamweaver or Google Page Creator; work on a web crawler; work on a web-based application like Google Docs; or work on a very visual application like Adobe Photoshop.
