In the Winter of 2012, I created my very own tree for the St. Vincent Festival of Trees. It was a ton of hard work, but also a ton of fun! The colors I chose for my tree were orange, teal, and purple, and I decorated my tree with a style similar to my paintings. I created a garland made of colored leaves, and I painted 300 mini wooden acorns in my tree colors and hung them in clusters on the tree. I purchased mini wooden birdhouses and painted them in bold colors, and also got little 4″x4″ flat panel canvases to paint forest critters on. I even got strings of lights in my tree’s colors too! My favorite part, though, was the tree topper. I sewed up some little critters that look just like the ones from my paintings, and put them in a nest at the top of the tree.
